About Noah Balloon

Natural disasters belong to the few phenomena that cannot be stopped. They threaten us, waiting to strike whenever and wherever. Hundreds of thousands of people have disappeared, died or been injured due to natural disasters. This inspired us to create the product called Noah balloon, which helps people evacuate effectively before or after a huge natural disaster occurs. Depending on the particular situation, Noah balloons can be placed in areas designated as emergency shelters. For example, when a huge earthquake strikes, people can see the Noah balloons across open spaces such as parks, grounds, etc. Victims seeking help can go to the nearest balloon station and be helped by rescue teams. Noah balloons can provide guidance and orientation for people in chaotic situations.

Statement of the Jury

Given the increasing number of natural disasters such earthquakes and tsunamis, this is a great solution to help large amounts of people get to safer ground. The concept works simply, in a basic way, and has a minimalist design which for this idea is just enough design. The product quickly makes people aware that it exists, and the technology to realize it seems relatively simple. People should be able to easily find the Noah balloon stations in public places, and thus gain the sense that they are being cared for, which is important human support in the difficult environment created by natural disasters.
