Uva Bucket

Harvest System

About Uva Bucket

Once a year, all over the world, the harvesting of grapes for wine-making takes place. In a few weeks, workers pick tons of grapes. Collecting big quantities of this fruit is quite painful, especially for the carriers. In addition, the current procedure is not ideal for the grapes, which are usually thrown into the truck and then smashed due to impact and weight , leading to a premature start of fermentation. ‘Uva Bucket’, a container and its transport system, was designed having all the needs of this procedure in mind, with the advantage that the carrier can easily unload the container on the edge of the truck alone, ensuring that all the grapes are in good condition. This tool is also more comfortable for workers due to its ergonomic support and padded textile backing. This project was a diploma project at Ecal - École Cantonale d'Art de Lausanne.
