The reluctance to eat edible insects moves us to think about how it would be possible to suggest their consumption and overcome ingrained aversion. The quality of insect-derived products is widely recognized, and their use is starting to be a common practice in food production in developed countries. Indeed, imagining the near future, following trends toward quality and the home-made, we think that some derived products can be produced at home in small quantities, in order to always have fresh food.

The idea and then the result is a home appliance that allows, due to a Soxhlet extractor and a decanter centrifuge, to produce homemade oil and margarine from insects and also from any kind of organic matter such as algae, seeds, walnuts etc. The opportunity to produce oil from insects permits experimentation from a culinary point of view. Indeed, it is possible to mix different insect species in order to obtain disparate flavors and aromas, opening up new possibilities for chefs and enthusiasts.
