Ö

Make Contaminated Water Drinkable

About Oe

Ö is a sustainable humanitarian aid, a help that knows how to evolve and give people the necessary conditions to regain their autonomy. The structure consists of recovery elements, local materials and a locally produced terracotta piece. Ö is an open source project for filtering unhealthy water. For this purpose, the product uses low technologies in the form of a ceramic filter and a sand filter, which eliminate pathogens present in the water. First a fabric layer filters out leaves and stones that are in the water. The sand filter, made of sand, stone, and charcoal, will then filter out the largest pathogens. Once collected at the bottom of the bucket, the water will pass through the ceramic filter to be filtered again and arrive in the water recuperator. Once the unhealthy water has been transferred to Ö, you have to wait one to two hours for it to reach the water recuperator. The tripod avoids contamination of the water with bacteria on the ground. Ö is a project available in open source, meaning that everyone is free to bring idea or solutions based on the location of the product. Different locations equal different resources.
